First Snow

In my first winter on Vancouver Island, amid the unceded lands of the Sc'ianew (Beecher Bay) First Nation, I was immersed in a landscape both alive and hushed. Snowflakes whispered to the waves, rain kissed the earth, and the ocean breathed in sync with the sky. Each flake melting, each droplet rising—an endless dance of winter’s quiet, resilient beauty. My First Winter captures these ephemeral moments, where silence holds life, and the land and sea blur into a tapestry of frost, mist, and wonder.
